OSAT Blog Hop - Fall/Halloween!

I decided to finally use a Stampin' Up! stamp set that has been in my collection since last year but not inked up yet.. Foxy Friends!  It has an awesome coordinating Fox Builder Punch.  Here's what I came up with for my card......

I love all of the creatures that can be made with the Foxy Friends stamp set... so many options!  I thought the sign was a great way to showcase the sentiment and it gave me a chance to add a little cardinal!  My husband and I love birds and cardinals are out favorite!  The adorable Keep Calm and Give Thanks Sentiment was from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit and I know I'll be using it a lot!  

And here is what I came up with for a coordinating project....

I picked up this adorable little 5" x 7" shadow box that can used with seasonal projects.  I loved the sentiment "gather together & give thanks" from the Painted Harvest stamp set!  It's one of my favorites!  You'll notice I snuck a couple of cardinals in this one as well! :)

PCC263 Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge with Lawn Fawn Stitched Ornaments

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  I am always relieved to know that I've made it half way through the work week and that much closer to the weekend!   It's been a busy couple of days for me and I'm really looking forward to this coming weekend.  I'm going to be going to Chattanooga, TN to see my sweet 8 year old granddaughter, Taylor, play softball.  She's been playing ball for about 3 years now and it's been so much fun to see how much her skills have progressed!  You know I'll have to share a picture.... this is my daughter Christine with Taylor last weekend during yet another tournament!  She hit three home run in that tournament so I'm hoping this weekend to see a few myself! 

And the picture below was after a long day of playing ball.  Her team came in 2nd place.  Taylor got a game ball for defense and her friend Sadee got a game ball for offense. 

So back to the matter at hand.. It is Wednesday which means I'm designing for Paper Craft Crew with a card for a new sketch challenge.  

I decided to get back to work on Christmas cards so that's where I went with the sketch by using my fun new Stitched Ornaments Die Set from Lawn Fawn!

These ornament dies have so many possibilies but I went super simple since I was adding a banner on the red ornament.  The banner die is from Avery Elle Wonky Stiches Die Set.  I added a Taylored Expressions Peace word die cut in Silver Mirror Paper over the White banner so it would stand out.  I love how it turned out... simple but pretty.

SIP Challenge #120 - Color Challenge with Orange, Lime and Black!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  As always I hope your week has gotten off to a wonderful start!  Did you make time to do some crafting on World Card Making Day?  Unfortunately I didn't but I had a wonderful day Saturday anyway and had some cardmaking time on Sunday afternoon ... at least I did make my Stamp, Ink, Paper Design Team card for Challenge #120! :)

Since it is Tuesday I'm over at Stamp, Ink, Paper again and this week we have a fun color challenge that screams Halloween or Fall!  I don't make a ton of Halloween cards but I LOVE fall and my very favorite thing about it is Pumpkin anything!  Yep, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin bread and of course.. Pumpkin Spice Lattes!   So you can probably guess where I went with this color challege.. straight to the Stampin Up! Coffee Cafe Bundle and the coordinating Merry Cafe Stamp Set.

I ended up using both stamp sets because I had to have the sentiment from the Merry Cafe but loved the woodgrain cup from the Coffee Cafe.  The problem with the woodgrain was that it only came in the smaller cup size and of course I always have a Venti with I get my PSL!  Then I realized.. no biggie because the black sleeve will cover the seam so I stamped two woodgrain cups and combined them into one large cup... problem solved!  I think it turned out super cute with this adorable distressed looking  orange patterned paper from my stash.  The paper even had a few splashes of lime green in it so that was a win.  I ran some black and white baker's twine around the black sleeve of the lime green cup, using the side of my scissors to add some twirl in the twine.  I adhered the lime green cup directly onto the patterned paper with Fast Fuse.  The orange cup was adhered with foam squares.  I love how the orange and black pop on top of the white!  So much so that I remade the card with the circle over the coffee sleeve in white for another pop of white.

So which one do you prefer?  I seriously can't decide.  I love each for different reasons!

PCC #262 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge with FSJ Artsy Leaves

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  It's finally Fall y'all!  Well at least it is finally feeling fallish!  lol  As usual on Wednesday I'm over with the Paper Craft Crew.  This week's Challenge is a Tic-Tac-Toe that has so many options depending on which way you go.. I went straight down the middle with Baker's Twine, Fall and Punch or Die Cut.  

I knew I wanted to make a Fall card and remembered that I bought the FSJ Artsy Leaves stamp set last year and thought it was time to ink it up... or Versamark it up. lol

I stamped the leaves onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versamark and then heat embossed them in White.  I used my Tim Holtz Distress Inks and an Aqua Painter to color them in. The inks used to color the leaves were Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, and Mustard Seed. Once painted I used my heat tool to dry them and then sponged some Antique Linen Distress Ink around them going a little darker around the edges.  Avery Elle Wonky Rectangles were used to cut out the front panel.  I stapled a bit of scrap ribbon in the upper left corner.  For the Leaf over the ribbon I used a small piece of Bristol Smooth with the same ink colors blended in to cut the Lawn Fawn Fall Tiny Tag.   After I die cut the tag I used my Ink Blending tool to add more of the Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink around the edge of it.  Some Natural Baker's Twine was run through the tag and then tied in a bow.  I twirled the end of the twine with the edge of my scissors and then attached the leaf with foam squares.  I used some Ranger Matt Medium to attach the "thanks" wooden element to the front of the card.  The panel was matted onto a piece (retired) Mossy Meadow Cardstock and then adhered to a 110# Neenah Classic Solar White Cardstock A2 Cardbase.

SIP Challenge #119 Card Makers Choice with Altenew Budding Thanks

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope you are having a wonderful week so far!  Is the weather where you live beginning to feel like fall?  It is here in Middle Tennessee and it feels so wonderful!  I spent a little time on Sunday sitting on the deck and enjoying the beautiful weather with our dogs while my husband was watching football.  What a wonderful peaceful day.. those are the best kind of days!

 This week over at Stamp, Ink, Paper we have my very favorite type of Challenge... Card Maker's Choice!  

I decided to pull out my Altenew stamp and die set "Budding Thanks" that I have barely used and love so I felt like it would be a great time to get some more use out of it.

I just adore these blooms and they layer so beautifully!  This was very simple but lately simple cards have been my favorite!  I started with a Neenah Classic Solar White 110# Card Stock base that measured 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and was scored at 4 1/4".  My stamping was all done using Altenew Floral Mini Ink Cube Set  and done on the same Neenah Classic Cardstock.  I stamped the stems and leaves directly on the cardstock panel.  The flowers were stamped on another piece of the same Neenah cardstock and then added using fast fuse for the bud and foam squares for the larger bloom.  I stamped the "Best Wishes" sentiment that was from the Hero Arts "Color Layering Large Orchid Stamp Set" on the upper right corner in the Forest Glades Altenew Ink Cube (darkest of the green ink included in the Floral Mini Ink Cube Set.  The dies used for my stitched and scallop layers is the Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Basic Set.  It includes a lot of awesome dies and it one of my favorite layering sets.  I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Confetti with Ranger Matt Medium to finish this one off.

PCC #261 Color Challenge with Hero Arts My Monthly Hero September 2017 Kit

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  You've made it this far so just keep pushing through!  I'm over with the Paper Craft Crew with a card for a color challenge that was indeed a bit of a challenge for me.  I was NOT feeling these colors at all!  Once I decided to use my September 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit and realized I could do some color layering to make them work, it turned out ok.. I hope!  lol  I'm sure you can think of something more fabulous than I did so please head over to Paper Craft Crew for some inspiration and to link up a card of your own!

And here's my card.. 

So for this one I started with a 11" x 4 1/4" sheet of SU Calypso Coral Cardstock.  I added a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of SU Early Espresso Cardstock over the Coral.  Next I used the SU Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of 3 3/4" x 5" piece of 80# Neenah White Cardstock and added it to the Early Espresso Layer.  Then on another piece of 80# Neenah White Cardstock I stamped my stem and leaves SU Lemon Lime Twist for the bottom layer and Tranquil Tide for the detailed layer.   My Flower was stamped in SU Calypso Coral for the base layer. The first detail layer was stamped in SU Cajun Craze and the second detail layer was stamped twice in Cajun Craze to darken that layer.  The center of the flower was stamped in SU Crumb Cake first and then Gina K Designs Black Onyx Ink.  (Note.. somehow I have lost my Versafine Tuxedo Black Ink.. how does one loose an entire ink pad?????)   I stamped two of the flowers exactly alike using my Misti so that I could layer them.  I used the coordinating dies to cut out the stem with leaves and the two flower images.  The top layer was handcut between some of the petals to allow more dimension.  I used a bone folder to bend the layers out.  I added the top flower with foam squares and added some FSJ Journey Glaze to the flower for some shine and drama!  Concord and 9th's Pineapple Perfection Bundle was used for the sentiment and banner.  I cut out the banner die first in SU Early Espresso and Stamped the "Thinking of You" in Versamark Ink and then heat embossed it in White. Some Natural Thread hoops were added with a small foam square in the middle and then the banner was added over the thread with small foam squares on each end.  It was finished off with Pretty Pink Posh 4mm Espresso Sequins.  I hope you like what I came up with!  I ended up loving it!

SIP Challenge #118 Anything But a Card with Verve Fill My Cup Bookmark

Hello my friends and Happy Tuesday!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and have gotten the week started off to a good start.  I am super excited about Stamp, Ink, Paper's Challenge theme this week... Anything But a Card!  

My first idea was to make a tag but when I started went through my stamps and ran into this awesome Fill My Cup Stamp Set from Verve I decided a bookmark would be perfect!  I'm trying to get back on track with my morning Bible reading and this bookmark is just the thing for me!  

How adorable are these sentiments??  I LOVE them!  I started with a 1 3/4" wide by 6 1/4" inch piece of SU Soft Sky Cardstock.   I heat embossed the sentiments and images in Black and used Zig Clean Color Markers to color in the sun and cloud image and the cup.  The heart was a punched heart out of a scrap of red cardstock.  Once I was done with the embossing and coloring, I added some wink of stella to the cloud and then a little white glitter.  I then used some FSJ Journey Glaze to coat the cup, cloud, sun and heart for some dimension and shine.  I used some ribbon fibers from my stash.  This was a super easy and fun project and is just what I need for my morning Bible reading.
