OSAT Blog Hop - May Flowers

Hello and welcome to One Stamp At A Time's May Flowers Blog Hop!  I was so excited when I heard we were going with a May flowers theme!  I have some new pre-order goodies from Stampin' Up! that I was excited to use!  If you've already been hopping, you should have landed from my friend, Andrea Tracy-Tucker's blog!  I've already had a sneak peak and know that she really outdid herself this time!  If you missed it, you'll want to be sure to check her fabulousness!  

Well, back to my card and project, here's what I came up with this month...

I was super excited to get to use my new "Pop Of Pink" Specialty Designer Series Paper, "Swirly Scribbles" Thinlits Dies, and "Thoughtful Banners" Stamp Set and coordinating Duet Banner Punch.  

My card started out with an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Melon Mambo cardstock that was scored at 5 1/2".  I added a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock for that thin layer look that I've been into lately.  My top layer is a piece of the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP that measured 4" x 5 1/4".  I cut a large Swirly Circle of Basic Black and adhered it with a Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  I added a Banner of the reverse side of the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP, adhered with Fast Fuse.  I stamped Happy Birthday from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Whisper White and then cut banner ends on it and attached over the DSP banner.  My Swirly Flower was cut in Melon Mambo Cardstock.  I rubbed the top of it in Versamark Ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I attached it to a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock.  I think the embossed swirl really pops over the same cardstock that is not embossed.  The Swirly Flower was then attached with Dimensionals.  I punched out some flowers with the Petite Petals Punch in Melon Mambo cardstock and sponged the edges tone-on-tone.  They were attached onto the Black Swirly Circle with glue dots.  A Rhinestone was added to the center of all of the Petite Petals flowers.  I also added three Rhinestones in the upper left of my card.

This one is a mixture of the new, the returning, and the soon to be retired.  The new of course is the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies, the Banner Duet Punch and Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  The returning is the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits and I promise if you don't have this one.. you NEED it!  I have used these dies soooo many times and have loved every Curvy box I've made!  The soon-to-be retiring is the Note Tag Punch, as well as the Melon Mambo Stitched Satin Ribbon, and Melon Mambo and Black Twine.  I love this twine so much.. so here is where I insert a sad face :( !

SIP Challenge #47 - One Element Wonder

Hello!  What a wonderful weekend I had on Mother's Day Weekend!  I was able to see my daughter and two of my granddaughters on Saturday.  Taylor, my 6 year old granddaughter had a Softball Tournament in Dayton, TN which is pretty close to where I live so I was able to go watch her play.  She is such a joy.  I wish I could have stayed for the whole tournament and especially since they won!  Here's a picture of her with her trophy!  She recently lost her two front teeth.. lol  Isn't she just adorable! :)

After a fun Saturday, I was able to spend Mother's Day with my son and his sweet girlfriend, Kaci!  She is a fabulous cook and made Chicken Parmesan, Pasta and meatballs with her awesome Marinara, Roasted Garlic Bread, and we ended it with Brownies and Ice Cream!  Does that sound delicious or what??  Oh my.. I was so full I came straight home and took a 2 hour nap!  lol

Well, back to the weekly business.. I'm back over at Stamp, Ink, Paper today with my card for a One Element Wonder Challenge.  

I can tell you right now that clean and simple is NOT my go to style.  I absolutely adore it but it doesn't come easy for me.  When I start adding to a card, I have a hard time stopping!  lol  Here's what I came up with for my One Element Wonder and this is about as CAS as I get...

I sure wish I could have taken a better picture because this is much more beautiful that the picture suggests.  I did a watercolor wash of Sahara Sand, and Tempting Turquoise onto a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Watercolor Paper.  I used my heat tool to dry it and then stamped the Seabird image in Stampin' Up! Black Archival Ink.  I used the same ink to stamp my greeting on the bottom right of the front panel. But here's where it gets super beautiful and I just counldn't get a picture that shows it.. ugh.. I sprayed that panel with some Glitter Dust Spray and it is Ah-mazing!!  Once that dried, I mounted the front panel onto a piece of 4 1/8 x 5 3/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock with Fast Fuse.  Next I mounted that onto an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock that was scored at 5 1/2".  I hope you'll head over and check out our challenge and link up a One Element Wonder card of your own!

ICS Blog Hop - Girl's Night Out!

Hello and welcome to May's Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop!  If you've already been hopping then you should have landed here from Terri Takashige's fabulous blog! and already know that this month's theme is Girl's Night Out!  

Girl's Night Out may mean something different to me than it does to you.  My version of a night out with my friends is to head over to Starbucks for some coffee, maybe a little shopping and of course always a nice dinner.  When I think of my friends, it reminds me that people are so much more important than things.  I have some wonderful friends and wouldn't trade them for the world! One of my favorite sets and is unfortunately soon retiring, is "Feel Goods" and I just love the sentiment "the best things in life aren't things"!

I started off with an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Basic Black cardstock that was scored at 5 1/2".  I added a piece of the Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper Stack in Black with white polka dots.   I stamped my sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock.  I cut the sentiment out with one of my Circle Framelits and adhered it to my card front with Fast Fuse.  I also cut out a Window Sheet with the same size Circle Framelit.  I made a frame out of two circle framelits by using a size larger Circle Framelit, and a size smaller framelit (skipping the size I used to cut out my sentiment and window sheet) so that it was a thick enough frame to add some strips of foam tape.  The edge of the window sheet was attached to the back of my circle frame with the foam tape   The sequins in my shaker card were from the Brights collection with a few random white sequins that I had hanging around my craft room.  After laying the sequins onto the sentiment, I attached the shaker frame with the foam tape already on it, onto the area surrounding the sentiment.   The Melon Mambo flowers were cut out using the Botanical Builder framelits. I added the small black center and then added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella onto the Petals.  For my white flowers, the larger layers were punched with the Pansy Punch, two smaller layers were from the Blossom Bunch Punch, and then a black layer that was back from the Botanical Buiders framelits again.  I put a Basic Pearl in the center of each flower.  I also used the Botanical Builder Framelits for my leaves that I cut out of Wild Wasabi Cardstock.  I used dimensionals to adhere my flowers and used multipurpose glue to adhere the leaves.  I added some Black and Melon Mambo baker's twine in two loops around the top of the card and then tied it in a bow on the right hand side to add some balance.

SIP #46 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!

Hello! I hope you've had a wonderful restful weekend and that your week is off to a fabulous start!  I got a lot of things done this past weekend which is always a good thing!  Since today is Tuesday it is, of course, time for another SIP Challenge!  This week it's time for another Tic-Tac-Toe and I went straight down the right hand side and picked Twine, Balloons, and Black.  

So about 6 months ago I saw an awesome video by the very talented Jennifer McGuire.  I have to be honest in that I rarely watch one of her videos that I don't have a list of products to order. LOL  This particular video was on the Avery Elle Custom Panel Elle-ments Die Set and she made some fabulous balloon cards by using the curved die.  Today's card is my attempt to duplicate, somewhat her process.  If you'd like to watch the video, I'm sure you would, just click here!  And seriously if you've never watched any of her videos, you've been missing out!

For this card, once I decided I'd be using twine and black, it was super easy to figure out my color combination.  I have the awesome Mint Macaron and Black Twine from the SU Occasions catalog so I was definitely going to be going with that combination. After cutting out the curved piece of Mint Macaron Cardstock and hand cutting the balloon end, I sprayed them both with Glitter Dust Spray Glitter and allowed them to dry before attaching them to the top of my card with Foam Tape.  The embossed sentiment on the bottom of the card is from the Lovely Amazing You photopolymer stamp set.  I just love the font used on the sentiments in that set!

SIP Challenge #45 - Welcome Baby!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope your week is off to an awesome start!  Since today is Tuesday, it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!

Today's Challenge is all about Welcoming Baby!  Since I have a new grandbaby scheduled to make it's arrival the end of May, this is a super fun challenge card for me to make.  What are we having?? We will be having our 6th granddaughter, Blakely Addison Rose.  Every one of them are a precious gifts from God! 

So here's my super adorable card using the new to me, Stampin' Up! Stamp set "Made with Love" and coordinating "Baby's First Framelits Dies".  My sweet friend Andrea recently told me that every cardmaker needs one good baby set so I took her advice and ordered these and I am so happy I did!

Aren't these sentiments just adorable??  I love them!

Mother's Day Grateful Bunch Screen Card

Hello!  Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!  I've been working on some Mother's Day cards the last couple of days and wanted to share one that I made with the Grateful Bunch stamp set and coordinating Blossom Bunch Punch. 

The Screen Card base is Watermelon Wonder cardstock.  It was scored at 2 3/4", 5 1/2" and 8 1/4" .  I used a Martha Steward scalloped border punch on the top of the card and used one of my retired Stampin' Up! punches to punch the bottom to make the screen look like it had legs.  The DSP that I used is from the gorgeous Birthday Bouquet DSP pack.  The flowers were punched using the Blossom Bunch Punch in Blushing Bride Cardstock.  I sponged the edges of the punched flowers to give them more depth and added a pearl jewel in the center of each.  I heat embossed the sentiments in White on Mossy Meadow cardstock (I am not giving this color up, even if it is retiring.. I love it!)

The butterflies were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Watercolor Wonder cardstock and punched out with my Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches.

SIP #44 Inspiration with Land and Sea

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope you're week is going good so far!  I always feel once I survive Monday, I'm good to go! lol  Well since today is Tuesday, I'm sure you know it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!  This week we have a Fabulous Inspiration Photo!

I love my nautical cards so I was all about this one!  I wanted to try something a little different this time.  Here's what I came up with!

Yep, I decided to make it a window card and why not make a shaker if you have a window, right?? lol

Tip:  For the Chair Rail, I used a strip of Whisper White Cardstock and scored it on my Score Board to make it look like wooden trim.
