OSAT Blog Hop - Oh My Pumpkins and Pie!

Hello and Welcome to One Stamp At A Time's Oh My Pumpkins and Pie Blog Hop! This month it is all about Pumpkins, Fall or Halloween cards and projects! If you have already been hopping you should have landed here from the Fabulous Maria Willis' blog! Isn't Maria amazing?? Here's my card and project for you this month...

I was super excited to get my new Stampin' Up! Spooky Fun stamp set and coordinating Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies to use on this card!

For my card, I went with traditional (to me) Halloween colors... Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black and Basic Gray. My cardbase is an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock scored at 4 1/4" for a standard A2 Card Base. The next layer is a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Elegant Eggplant that had been stamped in Elegant Eggplant Ink with the Watercolor Wash background stamp. I punched out a circle in Pumpkin Pie for the moon and stamped it with the 2nd generation of the Elegant Eggplant Watercolor Wash stamp. I adhered that to the Purple layer in the upper right section. The next layer is Basic Black that was also 5 1/4" x 4" and was cut with the Tree scene die and adhered with Fast Fuse over the purple so that some of the branches are in the moon. I die cut a bat out of a scrap of basic black and added that over the moon as well. Next up is the fence scene that was cut out from a 4" x 4" wide scrap of Basic Gray Cardstock. The Happy Halloween sentiment was stamped on it in Elegant Eggplant on the bottom right before adhering this to the card front. I stamped the pumpkins in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Pumpkin Pie Cardstock and die cut them with the dies from the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies. I adhered them with Dimensionals right over the sentiment. Last but never least, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Purple and Silver Sequins from the Enchanted Garden Mix. I bought these from Justin Krieger at his Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I LOVE these colors in this mix!

The inside of my card had a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of Elegant Eggplant Cardstock as well as a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. The spiders were stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink in the upper right corner. The sentiment was stamped in Elegant Eggplant Ink. Finally, some die cut pumpkins done the same as the ones on the front of the card were added in the lower left side.

The Pumpkin Curvy Keepsake Box was cut from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock and striped with a sponge dauber in Pumpkin Pie Ink. The Leaves are stamped Tone-on-Tone on Old Olive Cardstock with the Vintage Leaves Stamp set and cut out with the Leaflet Framelits Dies. They were adhered with Tombo Multipurpose Glue. I tied a bow with some Green Seam Binding. The tag also from the Curvy Keepsake Framelits was cut out in a scrap of Sahara Sand and tied on with Linen Thread. This pumpkin turned out super cute and I think it would make an awesome place setting or treat box!

ICS Blog Hop - Technique Time!

Hello and Welcome to the Inspire, Create & Share September Blog Hop! If you have already been hopping, then you know that this is a Technique Blog Hop! If you landed her from the Super Talented Claudia Perry's blog, thanks so much for continuing on! If you started with me, please make sure you click the next button as the end of the post for a lot of Technique Inspiration!

There are honestly so many techniques that I love it was super hard for me to choose but I went with Emboss Resist and threw in a little extra twist with the Joseph's Coat Technique on the leaves!

Here's my card....

I love to use unexpected colors for Fall and Holiday cards so for this card, I did just that! I started with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4". For my next layer, using Versamark Embossing Ink, I stamped a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Hardwood Stamp. I then heat embossed it using Stampin' Up! White Embossing Powder. After the embossed image had cooled, I sponged on Soft Sky and Marina Mist, and Dapper Denim Ink onto the layer keeping the darkest inks toward the outside. After I sponged, I used a paper towel to rub off any ink that was on my white embossed image. Next for the Joseph's Coat technique on the leaves, I started sponging Marina Mist, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry and Dapper Denim onto scraps of Whisper White Cardstock in random sections and blending some of the inks together. Next I clear embossed various leaves from the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set onto the sponged cardstock. Keep in mind that once you heat up the clear embossing powder, the images seem to disappear onto the sponged cardstock. Not to worry.. you will see them soon. Once the clear embossed images were cool, I used my brayer to apply Chocolate Chip Ink all over the cardstock... and then those beautiful leaves reappear! Yay! Once I had all my brayering finished, I allowed them to dry a bit and then cut them out using my Leaflet Framelits Dies. I then arranged them onto the front of my card and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. I made a big Linen Bow and attached it to the leaves stems with glue dots. Finally I stamped a Banner and sentiment from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum. I punched it out with the coordinating Duet Banner Punch and also Punched out the same Banner shape with Rich Razzleberry and attached it to the back of the sentiment with Fast Fuse. The entire Banner sentiment was attached with Dimensionals to the bottom right of my Emboss Resist Hardwood layer.

For the inside I kept it pretty simple..

I stamped the Maple Leaf from the Vintage Leaves set in a stamped off Sweet Sugarplum so that it was a very light image. I stamped the Banner and Sweet Friend sentiment (also from Thoughtful Banners) in Marina Mist. I punched it out with the coordinating Duet Banner punch and used Fast Fuse to Add over the Light Leaf image.

ICS Blog Hop - Fall for All

Hello and welcome to the October Inspire, Create & Share Blog Hop! If you've already been hopping, you should have landed here from the super talented Jen Guarino's blog!

I'm so happy that this month's ICS Blog Hop theme is "Fall for All"! I just love Fall and it's finally beginning to feel like it here in Middle Tennessee! One of my favorite things about Fall is the beautiful leaves changing colors. With all of the trees around here it is a gorgeous sight for sure!

Here's my Fall for All card that is really all about the changing leaves!

My A2 card base was Early Espresso with a thin layer of Tangelo Twist and top layer of Old Olive Cardstock. On the Old Olive layer I stamped some of the leaves from the Vintage Leaves stamp set tone on tone with Old Olive Ink. For the colored leaves I used a fun technique called Joseph's Coat Technique that my friend Ginger Pelfrey shared with me a few weeks ago. For a link to a video by Tami White on how to do this technique click here. If you've not done this technique, I'm sure you'll love the video. I sponged Cajun Craze, Tangelo Twist, Old Olive, Hello Honey, Daffodil Delight, and Soft Suede onto Whisper White Cardstock. I then stamped my leaves onto the sponged cardstock with Versamark and embossed them with clear embossing powder. Next I brayered Early Espresso ink all over my cardstock. The leaves were then cut out with the Leaflet Framelit Dies and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I then splattered a little Early Espresso and Tangelo Twist Ink on my card. (Yep, I went a little crazy with the splattering, maybe less is more...)

My sentiment from the Light Hearted Leaves Set was stamped in Early Espresso on Tangelo Twist cardstock and then clear embossed. I die cut the sentiment with one of the Lots of Labels Framelit Dies and sponged the edge tone on tone with Tangelo Twist ink. It was adhered to the card front with more Stampin' Dimensionals and a Candy Dot was added on each side of the label.

For the inside of the card I added a layer of Old Olive and then a layer of Crumb Cake. I stamped one of the Vintage Leaves tone on tone with Crumb Cake Ink and then added the other sentiment from Lighthearted Leaves in Early Espresso over that. I added the bottom part of one of my Joseph's Coat Leaves that had previously been cut for the top of the card onto the inside top edge. I also did a little splattering of some of the Tangelo Twist ink on the inside of my card.
