SIP #124 Girls Night Out with Stampin' Up! Half Full

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope your week is off to an awesome start!  Since it is Tuesday that means another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge and this time it's all about Girls Night Out!  

I finally got the opportunity to use my Stampin' Up! Half Full Stamp Set.  I have a few friends that are all about wine so I why not start on Christmas Cards for our card swap!  

This one was pretty simple with just a little bit of coloring.  I stamped the glasses onto Kraft Cardstock with using my Misti and the Creative Corners to align the wine glasses.  I used two light colored pencils to color in the white wine.  The larger wine glass was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock.  I used the Stampin' Blends Markers in Cherry Cobbler to color in the wine and the berries and in Old Olive for the holly leaves.  Both the large wine glass and the berries were fussy cut.  I used my Stampin' Write Basic Black marker along the edge of the fussy cutting so that the white would not show.  The DSP used is from the Stampin' Up! Quilted Christmas 6x6" paper stack.... I love these prints!  The larger splats are of course from Gorgeous Grunge (Retired).  The smaller splats are from my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker.  I remove the top and pull the brush edge against the edge of the top to make the splatters.

SIP Challenge #74 - CAS Christmas!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope you are having a wonderful week so far!  I am super duper excited about this week's Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!  For some reason, I am really getting in the Christmas Spirit and this week's challenge is a Clean & Simple Christmas Card!  This burst of Holiday spirit may be because I spent Friday night with my friend, Polly, making Christmas cards!  I believe I will actually have all of my cards made early this year! 

Well if you know me, you'll know that Clean and Simple is not my usual style but I really thought it would be fun to use one of the stamps from the Cookie-Cutter Christmas bundle so that's what I did!

I started with an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Real Red Cardstock that was scored at 5 1/2" for a top fold card base.  On a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White, I stamped one of the splatter stamps from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake Ink.  I found a piece of White and Red Washi tape in my stash that I adhered to another strip of Whisper White and then glued onto the splatter stamped portion of my white layer with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  I then made several loops of the Red Metallic Thread from the Holiday Catalog and adhered it with a mini glue dot.  I stamped my Gingerbread Man from the Cookie-Cutter Christmas set in Soft Suede onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and punched him out.  Next the bow was stamped in Real Red onto a small scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and punched out and then adhered to the Gingerbread Man with a Dot of Tombow glue.  I adhered the Gingerbread man onto the Thread and Washi Tape with Stampin' Dimensionals.   I inked the sentiment up in Versamark Ink, and then in Real Red Ink and then clear embossed it with my heat tool.   Although this is not my typical style, I think it is super cute!  I hope you do too!

SIP #43 Sketch Challenge By The Tide

Hello and Happy Tuesday! Hopefully your week is off to an awesome start and you had a wonderful weekend!  I had a super fun weekend with my daughter and two of our granddaughters!   Two of her friends gave her a wonderful baby shower!  In just about two months I should be waiting patiently for little Blakely Addison Rose to make her appearance into the world!

I know you must be crazy tired of my nautical cards but I have one more for you....lol

I was going through some of my stamps today and ran across an awesome Fishing Net Background Stamp from Our Daily Bread that I had NEVER used!  Well I love this stamp and I was itching to use it.. so I did.  I paired it with a couple of images from the Stampin' Up! By The Tide stamp set.  I also used some of a splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and then a Gina Marie Fishing Sentiment.  

My card base was an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock that was scored at 5 1/2".  I added a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of Early Espresso.  Next on a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock ( I know it's retired.. I'm hoarding it!), I stamped the Fishing Net Background stamp in Soft Suede Ink.  I sponged some Tim Holtz weathered wood distress ink on the edges of the Fishing net image.  I also stamped some of the splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with Weathered Wood onto the Net background.  I then attached it to the Early Espresso layer with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  Next I stamped the Coral image with Calypso Coral onto a piece of  2 x 3 1/4" piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock.  I also stamped some of the splatters from Gorgeous Grunge ink onto it using more of the Tim Holtz Weathered Wood Distress Ink.  I sponged the edges of that piece with Weathered Wood as well.  I stamped the fish with Early Espresso once in the center of the cardstock and once on the left side stamping partly off the cardstock.    I attached this panel onto a piece of 2 1/8" x 3 3/8" Early Espresso Cardstock.  These were then attached onto the Fishing Net layer at an angle (like the sketch) with more Tombow multipurpose glue.  I attached a few Pretty Pink Posh dew drops with Alene's adhesive.   I added the Early Espresso strip with foam tape.  The sentiment from the Gina Marie Fishing Stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Coastal Cabana and added with Foam tape as well.  I threaded some Linen Thread into a metallic button and attached it with glue dots and called this one done!

May OSAT Blog Hoppers - Monochromatic

Hello and welcome to our May OSAT Blog Hop.  I hope you've enjoyed the fabulous projects that Wynne has created!  She is so super talented and quite honestly is a hard act to follow.  As I'm sure by now you know, this month's Blog Theme is Monochromatic.  I have to admit that when I picked my colors I was feeling pretty good since Purple is one of my favorite colors.  But...once I started working on my projects, I was dying to add some teal or turquoise. Well, since that is not allowed, here I go with my two shades of purple: Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant, and my neutral pick of Whisper White.



My main card this month uses four different stamp sets:  "Everything Eleanor", "Gorgeous Grunge", "Work of Art" and "Papillion Potpourri".  I was literally all over the place on this card!  lol

My A2 card base was Perfect Plum with a layer of Whisper White.  All of the streaks, and paint splatters are from the fabulous "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set and were stamped in Perfect Plum after first being stamped off onto scrap paper to give it a softer look.  The florish is from "Everything Eleanor" and it was stamped in Elegant Eggplant.  The butterflies are from "Papillion Potpourri" and were stamped in Versamark embossing ink onto Perfect Plum card stock.  They were then embossed with White embossing powder and punched out with the coordinating butterfly punches.  The sentiment was stamped in the right corner in Elegant Eggplant ink and is from the "Work of Art" stamp set.  I added a few flowers that were punched out in Elegant Eggplant card stock with the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack.  I added pearls to the centers of the flowers and adhered them to the card along with three of the larger pearls and a few white Doodlebug Sequins.

In addition to my card this month, I also have a little handbag that will hold about 6 A2 cards and envelopes (I only enclosed 4 since they were embellished).  The little handbag was inspired by a Stamping School Project (www.stampingschool.com).  I used the dimensions for the bag and box insert from Stamping School however I changed the design to make it my own.

Here's a look at the bag from the side. I used a 5" Pierced Circle Die from Little B's for the flap and punched 1/8" holes for the handle of Perfect Plum Taffeta Ribbon. The butterflies on the outside of the closure are from the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set and coordinating framelits.  After layering them, I used my piercing tool to pierce through both butterflies so I could insert a candy dot brad.  Instead of putting a candy dot in the brad, I used one of the larger pearls. The strip at the bottom of the handbag is a 1" strip of whisper white that was randomly stamped with the flourish from "Everything Eleanor" in Elegant Eggplant.

The handbag opens and closes with Basic Grey magnetic snaps. The cards slip right into the box base that is adhered to the inside of the handbag.

I enclosed 4 cards as well as 4 envelopes in the handbag.  The stamp sets used on these cards were "Everything Eleanor", "Papillion Potpourri" and a brand new sentiment set  that will be in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog "Friendly Wishes".  Since I am a Stampin' Up! Demo, I was able to preorder a few things prior to release of the catalog! :)

CYCI 65 Clean and Simple Entry

Happy Sunday!   It's a gorgeous day here in Middle Tennessee and hopefully it will stay this way for a while!  Today's challenge at Can You Case It? is a Clean and Simple card that can be made in 10 minutes.  If you'd like to play along click here

After seeing today's CYCI challenge, I thought a card that I had designed for yesterday's card class would fit the bill quite nicely. I had 3 cards designed for yesterday's class and this is one that I wasn't completely sure about.  I really liked it but I wasn't sure that the style of it would suit the ladies in my class.  Man was I ever wrong!  It was the card that drew their attention as soon as they walked in the door since it was different that anything they had made before.

Ok, so time for a little honesty here.  I'm actually not really a fan of Orange.  I had a few pieces of Tangelo Twist Cardstock from the 2014-2016 In Color Assortments that I really needed to use so this seemed like a good opportunity to do so.  Honestly after making this card, I really think the orange worked on this one.  I started with a card base of Tangelo Twist Cardstock.  I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped one of the splatter stamps from Gorgeous Grunge in Midnight Muse, Tangelo Twist, and Island Indigo.  I then stamped butterflies from Papillion Potpourri with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Using my aqua brush I then painted in a butterfly in each of the 3 ink colors I had used for the splatters.  Using the Elegant Butterfly Punch I then punched them out.  I used a bonefolder to cuve the buttefly wings a bit.  I stamped one of  butterfly antennas into each of the three sections randomly.  I ran a little bit of Tombow glue just down from the antennas so that only the body of the butterfly was adhered to the card.  The sentiment was from the Work of Art stamp set.  The inside was left blank with a little of the Island Indigo Ink splatter stamped in the upper right corner.  It is one of the quickest cards I've ever made.
