SIP #179 - Holidays with Gina K Designs Festive Foliage by Claire Brennan

Hi There!  I hope you are having a good start to your week.  I have some good news and bad news.  First the bad news.... I am not done with my Christmas cards!  Gasp!  The good news is that if you are in the same boat as me, Stamp, Ink, Paper has the challenge for you!

I have not felt well the last week so I opted for a super simple card using the awesome Gina K Designs Festive Foliage Stamp Set by Claire Brennan!   I absolutely adore this stamp set.  I used it to make several cards last year!

This was super easy.  I started with a top folding card base of Neenah Crest Classic Solar White cardstock in a 110# cover weight.  My top layer was Bristol Smooth Cardstock that I taped off with some Purple Tape by Thermaweb.    I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans to inkblend within the open area.  After removing my tape, I put the front panel in my Misti and used sponge daubers to apply the Early Espresso (SU) and Mossy Meadow (SU) Inks.  Once stamped, I added a quickie glue pen over the open areas of the pine cones and added some fine sparkly glitter.  I heat embossed the sentiment in Mossy Meadow on the lower left side.  I thought about adding sequins but I loved the simplicity of this so I just left it as is.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

PCC268 Sketch Challenge with Gina K Designs Festive Foliag!

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  I'm super excited to be back at Paper Craft Crew this week with my take on a super fun sketch!  There are soooo many possibilities with this one.. take a look!

How fun is that??!!  I decided since I did the spotlighting technique on mine and had stamped pine branches and cones that mine didn't really need the banner.

The stamp set I used was one I bought last year from Gina K Designs.. it's called Festive Foliage by Claire Brennan!  I used it for so many of my cards last year and I do believe it will be used for quite a few this year as well!  It has some awesome Christmas foliage images as well as sentiments!  I used my Misti to stamp the images with SU Sahara Sand Ink onto Neenah 110# Classic Crest Solar White Card Base.  Once I had it stamped on the card base, I stamped it on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock again in Sahara Sand.  I then used a sponge dauber to add SU Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow (retired) inks to the stamp as well.  I used the SU Layering Circle Framelits to the section that I wanted to spotlight and added an Old Olive small scallop border (also from the same die set).  The sentiment was added at the top on the right in Old Olive Ink and then Versamark and clear embossed.  I used a 3/4" x 5 1/2" piece of  Merry Little Christmas DSP in an Old Olive pattern.  I ran some Natural Thread around the strip of DSP and tied it in a small bow and then added the circle layer with the spotlighted design over it.  I used my scissors to snip the overhanged portion off from the back of the card.  Lastly.. as usual, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh 4mm sequins in Espresso with Multi Medium Matt adhesive.

SIP Challenge #76 - Embossing!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday if you're from the States.  I had 5 glorious days off!  It was so wonderful and a much needed restful Holiday.   Well back to the matter at hand.... since it is Tuesday, I'm back over at Stamp, Ink, Paper with my take on a new Challenge.  This is all about embossing.. either heat embossing or dry embossing.  I love them both but I chose heat embossing this time.

Here's my card showcasing a two fabulous stamp sets from Gina K Designs called Festive Foliage and Music Background Stamp. These are truly awesome sets!

I used Gina K Heavy Base Weight Ivory for my A2 cardbase.  My stamped layer was Gina K layering weight Ivory cut to 5 x 3 3/4".  I stamped the Musical background stamp onto the layering weight Ivory with Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake Ink.  After stamping it, I sponged the edges with more Crumb Cake Ink.  I heat embossed the Pine Images and the sentiment from the Festive Foliage Set with Gold Embossing Powder.  After heat embossing, I layered the stamped layer onto a 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" piece of Stampin' Up! Soft Suede Cardstock.  I ran some Natural Twine around the layered pieces a few times and attached a Twine Bow to it.  The layers were attached to the card base with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
