PCC289 April Showers bring May Flowers with Concord & 9th Wonderful Florals Bundle

Hello Friends!  Happy Hump Day!  It's Wednesday which of course means time for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge!  This week we have some options!  The theme is April Showers bring May Flowers which can be about Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Weddings, Springtime, Flowers, and even rain showers.  So many ideas with this one, right?

I decided to use my Concord & 9th Wonderful Florals Bundle because I have had it waaaaayyyy too long to have not even inked it up!

How fun is this bundle??  There are so many parts and pieces that there are options galore with it.   Believe it or not I kept mine pretty simple.  My stamping was done on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink that had been clear embossed.  I used my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Markers to color in my leaves, flowers and berries.  The die cut wonderful letters were stamped with the little striped stamp in Smoky Slate Ink.  I love the light gray paired with the Yellow.

SIP #147 Color It Challenge with Gina K Designs Stippled Flowers Bundle

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I'm finally feeling better.  Yay!!  It took two trips to the Doctor with a total of four shots and seven prescriptions but I finally am feeling alive!  And almost as wonderful, it is actually warming up and I actually feel like I could enjoy being outside some!  Thank goodness!

So this week over at Stamp, Ink, Paper we have a Color It Challenge!  

I finally pulled out my Gina K Designs Stippled Flowers Bundle.  I needed to make a card for Jeff's Mom's birthday and it has such lovely flowers as well as a beautiful Happy Birthday in this set!

I did some stamping and coloring.. can you tell?  Some flowers were stamped with Versamark and embossed in white and others were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear embossed.  I used Bristol Smooth Cardstock for all of my stamping.  It really takes water well.  You can't soak it as much as watercolor paper but it is definitely the next best thing and it is such a beautiful white color.  (I also use it for my Distress Ink Blended backgrounds!)  The Embossing on the Bristol Smooth helps me with watercoloring because it gives me a raised edge to contain my color.  I used Kuretake Zig Clean Color Markers for all of my coloring.  The cool thing about stamping and embossing ahead of time is that I could sit in the living room with Jeff and color while we watched television.  Obviously I was a little more involved with the coloring than the television watching but at least I was in the same room with him.  After coloring I decided that the light purple was my favorite so I used those to make Jeff's Mom's card.  I think my second favorite was the white embossed flowers so I'll probably make something from those next!

PCC288 Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge Rustic Floral with Stampin Up! Love What You Do

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  I am still not feeling well.. I really wish these medications would kick in.  You'd think after 2 shots and 3 prescriptions that I would have some relief.  Why is it that any kind of sickness seems worse on me the older I get.  This is a sinus infection and I've had them so many times over the years.  I can't remember ever feeling this bad with just a sinus infection.  Last year I had strep throat and I swear I felt like I had the flu.  I was literally in bed for 3 or 4 days.  Are the germs getting worse or is this me getting old??  Crazy!  

Well back to business, right?  It's time for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This week we have an Inspiration Challenge for a Rustic Floral Arrangment.

I went really simple.. since I'm not really feeling well anyway.  And... I just received today my Stampin' Up! Preorder which included the Love What You Do Stamp Set.  

I love the watercolor look background stamp in the set.... it has so much texture on it.  I used Powder Pink on it for a soft background.  I stamped the sentiment over it with Lovely Lipstick.  After the fact I felt like I should have stamped it in Black.  Oh well... again don't feel good so I'm not starting over. lol  The flowers were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and quickly colored with copics. I then used a rectangle stitched die to cut out the panel.   I added some clear Wink of Stella over the flowers once finished for some shimmer.  I adhered some Stampin' Up! sequins with Glitter Glue to finish it off.  The front panel was added to the Gray Woodgrain Cardbase with Tombow Multipurpse Glue. I really love how easy it is to make a quick card with this set!

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April 2018

Even though I haven't felt well the last couple of days I had to take just a little bit of time to play with my Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for April!  I absolutely adore Cactus anything so this is definitely the kit for me!  This one is a winner!

I did some ink blending with two of the inks included in the kit (Fiesta red and yellow)  as well as some Walnut Stain Distress Ink toward the bottom.  All of the Cacti as well as the Bird were stamped in Memento onto Neenah Classic 110# Crest Solar White Cardstock and colored with Copics.  I used the coordinating dies in the kits to cut everything out and adhered some with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive and some with Foam tape.  The sentiment was stamped in the upper right using Versafine Black Onyx Ink and then clear embossed.  I added some Burlap Ribbon strips on the top upper left with tear tape.  The black mini sequin trim was added with Multi Medium Matt Adhesive.

That was it for this one.  Time to take my medicine and hit the bed.

SIP #146 Theme Challenge - Food or Drink with Hero Arts It's Fiesta Time!

Hey There!  I sure hope it is warm where you live...  the weather has been loco lately!  It's been super cold and rainy in Middle Tennessee and as usual for this time of year... I have a sinus infection.  I went to the Doctor and got two shots and three prescriptions hoping that this thing will take a hike and stay gone!  Ugh!  I felt so bad on Monday I almost didn't make my Design Team card for the new SIP challenge but I remembered that I just got my Hero Arts monthly goodies so I went for it. 

The April My Monthly Hero is so adorable and so are some of the add-on sets!  I used the It's Fiesta Time Stamp and coordinating dies (these were both kit add-ons)  for this card.  It has some super cute images and sentiments in it.

I used Brusho Crystal Color in Brilliant Red and Gamboge (orange) and water on Bristol Smooth Cardstock for the background.  They are a lot of fun to use and a tiny bit messy! lol  The Chihuahua Taco and the Hot Sauce were also stamped on Bristol Smooth and colored with Copics.  I am NOT an expert Copic Colorist but I give it the old college try. lol  The sentiment was stamped on the completely dry background with Versafine Ink and heat embossed in clear.  Super simple card but I think it's pretty stinkin' cute!  I hope you think so too!

April Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop - Pastels!!

Hello and Welcome to the April Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop!  I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and are ready for some awesome scrapbooking inspiration!  

I need you to bear with me on two points... #1 I'm still scrapping some of my pictures from my last cruise.. I know you've seen a lot of them.  I'm sorry!  #2 It was storming all day on Saturday so I was unable to get good lighting for the photos.  I apologize for the poor quality picture!  I tried I promise!  

Since the theme was pastel, I picked a Black and White photograph so that the color of our clothing didn't clash with the soft color theme.  I love the sentiment from the High Tide Stamp Set and thought it was a perfect compliment to the scene I made with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.

I love that you can use the scallop die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies upside down for the waves of the sea.  I actually cut them out of whisper white cardstock and then sponged Soft Sky Ink instead of using soft sky cardstock.  The background was sponged on Whisper White as well.  I used Powder Pink on the bottom and more of the Soft Sky Ink on the upper part of the sky.  The sentiment was stamped in Soft Sky Ink and then stamped in Versamark and then clear embossed it.   The new Stamparatus makes it so super easy to do!  After I cut strips of the Sahara Sand Cardstock I tore it pretty wavy to resemble sand dunes. I matted both the 4 x 6" photo and the 4 x 6" scene on 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" Soft Sky Cardstock. I sponged the edges of the mats with Soft Sky Ink to help them to stand out from the background of the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.  I loved that the pattern on this DSP was a soft sky and white chevron subtle design that allowed the die cuts to still show up and didn't compete with them.  I finished this off with some Basic Pearl Jewels and some Iridescent Sequins scattered around the page.  Of course I had to add some hidden journaling under my beach side scene.  I used the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies to make my tag and cut off the bottom end to make a wide tag.  A handheld 1/8" circle punch was used to punch a hole in the tag.  Some white seam binding threaded through the hole with a bow of Linen Thread completed the tag.

I was super happy with how it all turned out and I hope you enjoyed it as well.  I can't wait to see what everyone else has created!  This is such an amazing group of scrapbookers and all have such varied styles!  I am honored to be a part of the group and am inspired each month!

MFT Card Challenges - Sketch Challenge #380 with Seaside Seagulls!

I absolutely fell in love with these adorable MFT Stamps Seaside Seagulls the moment I saw them!  Well.... I finally got them!  Yay me!  MFT Sketch Challenge #380 seemed a perfect excuse to ink them up!  Why not, right??

My only regret is not using a bigger circle.. lol  

I'm not sure which I love more these adorable Seagulls or the sentiments!
