SIP #149 Dads and Grads Challenge

Hello there!  I hope your week is off to an awesome start!  At least we survived Monday, right?  I have a friend that recently retired.   She said every night feels like Friday night and every day feels like Saturday... how cool that would be!!  I have a few more years to go but not too many.  Hopefully it will feel like that to me too!  I wonder if I'll craft every day??  I think I will!  :)

As usual Tuesdays always mean it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!  This week's S.I.P. Challenge #149 is all about Dads & Grads!

I've been playing around with some of my Concord & 9th products from their April 2018 release.  I used the Sketched Stripes Background stamp on this one along with the Painted Rose Dies for the "thinking of you" sentiment.  For the DAD in the background I used Stampin' Up! Large Letters Framelits.  I haven't made an Eclipse Card in a while and felt like this was a good time to do so!

The sketched Stripes were stamped in Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip Ink onto Very Vanilla SU Cardstock.  I cut the panel out with a Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Rectangle Die.   I cut the DAD out with the Large Letters Framelits.  I also cut out 3 layers of the same letters in Early Espresso Cardstock to stack under the letters. All of the letters were adhered to each other with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  I cut the "thinking of you" sentiment from the Painted Rose dies out in Early Espresso cardstock twice so I could stack them.  I adhered them over the DAD with more of the Tombow glue.   The front panel was matted on a larger panel of Soft Suede that was cut with a larger Stitched Rectangle die and then those were mounted onto a Dark Brown Woodgrain Card Base.

I love the way this turned out and I hope you do too.  Masculine cards don't have to be boring, right?

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - You Are My Anchor

Hello!  I hope you are having a fabulous week!  I'm so happy to join all of the fabulous Stampin' Up! Demonstrator's for this You Are My Anchor Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop!    If you are already a Paper Pumpkin subscriber then I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about!  I think this is my all time favorite PP Kit!  Of course, anything Nautical is my thing! :)  

For some reason Nautical theme cards draws me to shaker cards so I had to throw at least one shaker card into the mix with the help of some window sheets, stitched shape framelits dies, woodgrain DSP and some foam adhesive strips! 

I ran my bone folder over the score line on the 6" x 3" card base and cut the 6" side off a 5 1/4".  I adhered it to the front of a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" Wood Grain DSP that I had first cut a stitched circle out of.  (The Patterned Cardstock covered up the hole so no one is the wiser, right??) I used a smaller stitched circle to cut the larger one into a frame.  Window Sheet was adhered to the inside of the circle frame with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  I also cut a circle out of one of the envelopes included in the kit so that I could use the blue wave DSP on the inside of the envelope for the back of my shaker.  The lighthouse die cut was glued onto the  blue wave DSP and another window sheet die cut circle was adhered over that.  I added some random clear and blue sequins in the middle (that I had (probably left over from a previous PP kit!).  Some foam adhesive strips were added behind the wood grain frame and then adhered to the light house scene with the sequins to complete my shaker.    I added the anchor at the bottom with the roping through it and next to the sentiment that was stamped in Island Indigo to complete this one.  

Of course, I had to throw a little tone on tone stamping in on the below card.  

I used the smaller stamps from the stamp set to stamp in Sahara Sand on Sahara Sand Cardstock. The large Anchor on the circle was stamped in Island Indigo Ink onto the circle die cut from the kit.  This was a simple but super cute alternative to use the 3 x 3" card opened flat as a DSP accent on your card panel.  I attached the matted front panel with dimensionals onto a Thick Whisper White top folding card base since the cording in the kit is pretty thick.

SIP Challenge #148 - Farmhouse Chic with Corcord & 9th Barnwood, Petals and Pallets

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope your week is off to an awesome start!  It was a gorgeous weekend here in Middle Tennessee.  I've still been a little under the weather but the beautiful sunshine shining down on me this past weekend sure made me feel just a little bit better!  

Are you ready for the coolest card challenge ever??  Stamp, Ink, Paper has an awesome one this week!  If you've been into Fixer Upper, Shiplap, and Farmhouses then you will love this one!

I used a couple of favorites from Concord & 9th... Barnwood Background Stamp and the Petals and Pallets Bundle!

Isn't that Barnwood Background Stamp awesome???  I embossed it in White on Stampin' Up! Sahara Sand Cardstock for my card front.  The pallet was cut out of Copper Foil Cardstock that was wiped with some Black Archival Ink to give it a bit of an aged look.  The flowers from the Petals and Pallets stamp set were stamped in Flirty Flamingo and Powder Pink.  The leaves were stamped in Old Olive and Pistachio Pudding.  The flowers and leaves were layered in with Dimensionals.

PCC289 April Showers bring May Flowers with Concord & 9th Wonderful Florals Bundle

Hello Friends!  Happy Hump Day!  It's Wednesday which of course means time for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge!  This week we have some options!  The theme is April Showers bring May Flowers which can be about Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Weddings, Springtime, Flowers, and even rain showers.  So many ideas with this one, right?

I decided to use my Concord & 9th Wonderful Florals Bundle because I have had it waaaaayyyy too long to have not even inked it up!

How fun is this bundle??  There are so many parts and pieces that there are options galore with it.   Believe it or not I kept mine pretty simple.  My stamping was done on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink that had been clear embossed.  I used my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Markers to color in my leaves, flowers and berries.  The die cut wonderful letters were stamped with the little striped stamp in Smoky Slate Ink.  I love the light gray paired with the Yellow.

SIP #147 Color It Challenge with Gina K Designs Stippled Flowers Bundle

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I'm finally feeling better.  Yay!!  It took two trips to the Doctor with a total of four shots and seven prescriptions but I finally am feeling alive!  And almost as wonderful, it is actually warming up and I actually feel like I could enjoy being outside some!  Thank goodness!

So this week over at Stamp, Ink, Paper we have a Color It Challenge!  

I finally pulled out my Gina K Designs Stippled Flowers Bundle.  I needed to make a card for Jeff's Mom's birthday and it has such lovely flowers as well as a beautiful Happy Birthday in this set!

I did some stamping and coloring.. can you tell?  Some flowers were stamped with Versamark and embossed in white and others were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear embossed.  I used Bristol Smooth Cardstock for all of my stamping.  It really takes water well.  You can't soak it as much as watercolor paper but it is definitely the next best thing and it is such a beautiful white color.  (I also use it for my Distress Ink Blended backgrounds!)  The Embossing on the Bristol Smooth helps me with watercoloring because it gives me a raised edge to contain my color.  I used Kuretake Zig Clean Color Markers for all of my coloring.  The cool thing about stamping and embossing ahead of time is that I could sit in the living room with Jeff and color while we watched television.  Obviously I was a little more involved with the coloring than the television watching but at least I was in the same room with him.  After coloring I decided that the light purple was my favorite so I used those to make Jeff's Mom's card.  I think my second favorite was the white embossed flowers so I'll probably make something from those next!

PCC288 Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge Rustic Floral with Stampin Up! Love What You Do

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  I am still not feeling well.. I really wish these medications would kick in.  You'd think after 2 shots and 3 prescriptions that I would have some relief.  Why is it that any kind of sickness seems worse on me the older I get.  This is a sinus infection and I've had them so many times over the years.  I can't remember ever feeling this bad with just a sinus infection.  Last year I had strep throat and I swear I felt like I had the flu.  I was literally in bed for 3 or 4 days.  Are the germs getting worse or is this me getting old??  Crazy!  

Well back to business, right?  It's time for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This week we have an Inspiration Challenge for a Rustic Floral Arrangment.

I went really simple.. since I'm not really feeling well anyway.  And... I just received today my Stampin' Up! Preorder which included the Love What You Do Stamp Set.  

I love the watercolor look background stamp in the set.... it has so much texture on it.  I used Powder Pink on it for a soft background.  I stamped the sentiment over it with Lovely Lipstick.  After the fact I felt like I should have stamped it in Black.  Oh well... again don't feel good so I'm not starting over. lol  The flowers were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and quickly colored with copics. I then used a rectangle stitched die to cut out the panel.   I added some clear Wink of Stella over the flowers once finished for some shimmer.  I adhered some Stampin' Up! sequins with Glitter Glue to finish it off.  The front panel was added to the Gray Woodgrain Cardbase with Tombow Multipurpse Glue. I really love how easy it is to make a quick card with this set!

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April 2018

Even though I haven't felt well the last couple of days I had to take just a little bit of time to play with my Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for April!  I absolutely adore Cactus anything so this is definitely the kit for me!  This one is a winner!

I did some ink blending with two of the inks included in the kit (Fiesta red and yellow)  as well as some Walnut Stain Distress Ink toward the bottom.  All of the Cacti as well as the Bird were stamped in Memento onto Neenah Classic 110# Crest Solar White Cardstock and colored with Copics.  I used the coordinating dies in the kits to cut everything out and adhered some with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive and some with Foam tape.  The sentiment was stamped in the upper right using Versafine Black Onyx Ink and then clear embossed.  I added some Burlap Ribbon strips on the top upper left with tear tape.  The black mini sequin trim was added with Multi Medium Matt Adhesive.

That was it for this one.  Time to take my medicine and hit the bed.
