OSAT Spring Fling Blog Hop With Stampin' Up! Tranquil Textures Suite

Hello and Happy Spring!  I know that not everyone has Spring Weather right now.  I've noticed a few friends in Wisconsin posting pictures of snow.  I am so thankful that it is beginning to feel like Spring here in Middle Tennessee with 70 degree weather most days!  If you have already been hoping on this month's OSAT Blog Hop, I would like to thank you for continuing.  If you started with me, thank you for stopping by and please make sure you hop all the way through so that you get lots of inspiration!

Although I'm beginning to notice lots of  beautiful flowers blooming, for me Spring takes me to Spring Break and all things Nautical!  I spent many a Spring Break with my children in Florida and my husband and I usually go on a cruise in the Spring so Nautical it is for me!

There are soooo many things I love about the Stampin' Up! Tranquil Textures Suite!  The DSP is gorgeous... Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig and so beautiful together!  I love the Sea of Textures Bundle!  That Octopus is awesome and the coordinating Under the Sea Framelits cut some of the areas between the legs and that seriously makes me happy!  Also, the framelits contain a super cool fish net stand along die as well as stand alone seagrass and coral that I used on this card!

PCC #331 - Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge - Stampin' Up! Sea of Textures Bundle

Happy Hump Day!  We made it half way through the work week!  That's a big Yay for me!  Of course Wednesday means yet another Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This week is a fun Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge... I went straight down the 3rd row for mine.

So for sequins, Stitched Rectangular Dies and Green, I thought Nautical.  So here's what I came up with using the Stampin' Up! Sea of Textures Bundle along with the coordinating Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper.

My card base is an A2 base of Seafoam Green Cardstock.  I used the 2nd largest of the Rectangle Stitched Dies to cut a piece of the Tranquil Textures DSP and matted it with Tranquil Tide Cardstock.  I stamped the Octopus in Tranquil Tide on Whisper White Cardstock.  Once stamped, I used one of the smaller rectangles to cut it out.  Seafoam Green Ink was sponged on the Whisper white after the Octopus was stamped.  I also stamped some of the seagrass in Seafoam Green at the bottom of the stitched Rectangle.  The sentiment "You're one of a kind" was heat embossed in White on Tranquil Tide Cardstock and I used one of the skinny rectangles to cut it out.  I used snail to attached the sentiment strip and then used Dimensionals to attach the larger triangle to the center of the card.  I finished it off with three Sparkling Clear Confetti Sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings!  Tina

PCC295 Sketch Challenge with Stampin' Up! Sea of Textures Bundle

Hi Friends and Happy Hump Day!  We have made it half way through the work week.... Woo Hoo to that!  Once again my love of all things nautical is back up for view!  Over at Paper Craft Crew today the sketch gave me an idea that I had to run with using the new Stampin' Up! Sea of Textures Bundle!  The funny thing is that my original idea was changed up while I was making my card.  Does that ever happen to you?  It sure happens to me a lot!

So as usual when I see a circle, I think of a nautical shaker card.  Of course that would have been super cute but when I got my dies out and looked at that awesome fish net die I had another idea.

I saw the fabulous Linda Heller from Stamping School make the netting by distressing cardstock until it peels apart into two layers and then die cutting just one of the layers for the net.  I used that method so that I could get the netting to crumple up behind the octopus.  It is a super cool look so goodness knows I'll be making more of these nets!  :)

For the Octopus I first stamped in SU Smoky Slate (a light gray) and then sponged on some Blackberry Bliss.  I love the look!  I also love that the die cuts out so many of the inside sections of the legs!  I believe this bundle is one of the best picks from the brand new Stampin' Up! Catalog!  If you don't have it yet, you can purchase the clear mount Sea of Textures Bundle here!   I also used the coordinating Tranquil Texture DSP.  There were a lot of options with this DSP and I'm still not sure I picked the right one. lol  I just really wanted the octopus to stand out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
