SIP #202 Life's a Beach with Stampin Up! Lilypad Lake

Hi There!  I hope your week is off to another good start!  This week over at Stamp, Ink, Paper we have a Beach Theme!

I usually LOVE anything Nautical but as usual I waited until the last minute and didn't have a lot of energy so I went with something pretty simple.

My inspiration started with a shimmer paint spray from Hero Arts that I had lying around and hadn't used.  I had a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and sprayed the cardstock on the lower right corner to see what color it was.  It was just a little too green for me at first so I picked up a bottle of FSJ Cool Pool Silk and added a little in the same corner and then misted it with water using a TH Distress Mister.  I used my heat tool to dry it and then stamped the "Be calm and leave it to God" sentiment from the Lilypad Lake Stamp Set in the upper left corner.  I stamped the bird onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock using Versafine Black Ink and cut it out with the coordinating Lakeside Framelits.  I adhered my bird... is it a Heron???... onto the lower left as it he is walking into a storm of water.  I used some Emerald Envy Cardstock to Matt my front panel and then mounted all of that onto Basic Black Cardstock.  I added just a few dashes with a black marker where my bird was walking to ground him a bit.  I second guessed myself on that but alas it was too late.  lol

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

PCC #299 Color Challenge with Stampin' Up! Lilypad Lake Bundle

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  I'm finally back over with my friends at the Paper Craft Crew after a few weeks off.  I am soooo super excited about this week's challenge colors!  Check these out!

So you only have to use 3 of the 4 colors but I used all of them!  I combined two of my favorite things... first of all my love of all things nautical and my love of watercolor backgrounds!

I used Bristol Smooth Cardstock for my top layer and did some watercolor smooshing on a long acrylic block to make my background.  It was pretty much a color blocking of Broken China Distress Ink on the bottom, Mustard Seed Distress Ink in the middle, and Picked Raspberry on the very top.  The bird, lily and lily pads were stamped onto Bristol Smooth as well and watercolored with Zig Clean Color Markers.  I used the coordinating Lily Pad Dies to cut everything out.  I used my Misti to stamp my sentiment in Versafine Black Ink and added three clouds from the Up and Away Thinlits.

Here's how I finished out the inside...

Thanks so much for stopping by!  A list of products that I used is at the bottom of this post if interested.  Blessings!  Tina
