The Spot Challenge #134 - Sketch Challenge with Stampin' Up! Gnome for the Holidays

Hey there!  Happy Tuesday or as I like to call it.. I survived Monday!  We have a brand new sketch over at The Spot for you this week.  Check it out!

I took a few liberties with this one but it was fun to see what everyone on the Design Team came up with!  You'll definitely want to check out because there are some amazing designs this week!

I used the adorable Gnome for the Holidays Stamp Set because I just haven't used the Gnomes enough this year!  I used a little different color combination this time with lots of Rich Razzleberry since I used two strips of the Perfectly Plaid in Rich Razzleberry and White.

I stamped the Gnome for the Holidays Tree first with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and used my Stampin' Blends to color it in.  At first I thought I would stamp and fussy cut out both the tree and the Gnome but after I colored it, I decided to stamp the Gnome next to it and make a little scene with it.  Once I colored in my Gnome, I used the Stitched Labels Dies to cut it out and then completed the scene by filling in the ground and the sky.  Because the label was a little higher than I first expected, I also, added a little to my tree by coloring it up higher than the stamp and finishing it off with a Black Marker fine tip marker to make it look like the stamp was higher than it was.  I hope that makes sense and that I was a little successful in that.  I also used the fine tip marker to draw a line to ground everything.  I was really happy with how it turned out.

Thanks so much for stopping by!   Blessings, Tina

The Spot Challenge #126 - Anything But a Card!

Hi there.  Hope you are having an awesome week.  I struggled with my Design Team project this week at The Spot but finally pulled through!  This week's theme is "Anything But a Card".

I had one over to Polly's house on Friday night.  Polly is my BFF and crafting buddy.  We have been crafting on most Friday nights for about 10 years now.  She was working on some birthday cards and I was watercoloring some Gnome images and trying to wrap my brain around what I would make for my DT project at The Spot this week.  Finally on Sunday morning I decided I would use a couple of the images I had colored and make some shaker tags.

I started putting the tags together and realized that I forgot to punch a hole in the top.  Then I came up with something that I thought was pretty cool.  I ran my ribbon around the inside of the oval and tied it at the top.  Not only did that give me a place to tie on the tag but it also covered the Dimensional strips I used to create my shaker tag.  check it out!

I added the little white scallop that cut from the front to the back to give me a place to add a name..

The Spot Challenge #125 - Sketch Challenge with Stampin' Up! Gnome For The Holidays

Hi there!  Hope you are doing well this week!  I have finally used the adorable new Gnome For The Holidays Stamp Set this week.  It's been stacked on one of my craft tables for a week or so and every time I have seen it I knew I had to find a chance to use it soon.  It is just too adorable!  This week's sketch challenge over at The Spot seemed like the perfect opportunity!

Here's this week's Sketch..

I absolutely LOVE this sketch!  There are sooo many possiblities but as I said.. I need to ink up my Gnome For The Holidays Stamp set so here's what I made..

So I was thumbing through my Snowflake Splendor DSP when I saw this gorgous watercolored snowflake background, I was in loooooove!  It is absolutley gorgeous!  I used a Pacific Point 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" cardbase, scored at 4 1/4 for a top folding landscape card.  I matted my gorgeous DSP with a thin layer of Whisper White Cardstock and ran some of the beautiful Pool Party 3/8" sheer ribbon around the panel after it was attached to the card base.  I did a watercolor wash with Balmy Blue Ink onto a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  Once dry, I used the largest of the Stitched Circle dies to cut it out.  The circle was attached with dimensionals onto the card front.  The gnomes were stamped onto  a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with Basic Gray Ink and colored in with my Stampin' Blends.  I used my paper snips to fussy cut the gnomes out and attached them to the circle with Multipurpose adhesive. I stamped the "you're a freind like gnome other" sentiment in Pacific Point ink onto a strip of Whisper White Cardstock and attached with Multipurpose adhesive over the gnome's feet and with a mini dimensional on each side of the circle.   Such a quick and easy card except for the little bit of coloring with my blends.  I find coloring pretty relaxing so I stamped them earlier and then brought them into the living room while Jeff and I were watching tv and colored them.  Multi-tasking at it's best.  I should have stamped multiple while I was coloring.... right?
