The Spot Challenge #123 - Scrapbook Layout or Mini Album Challenge

Hi There.  I hope you are doing well!  I was super excited for this week's challenge over at The Spot Creative Challenge Blog because it's a Scrapbook theme!  I can't tell you how much I LOVE scrapbooking or just how behind I am in scrapping the pictures that I have.

I intended to scrap some pictures of the grandkids or vacation picutres but I ran across two pictures of our two newest dog tribe members and couldn't help but scrap those instead!

Look at those adorable faces.. are they not so sweet?!?  I used a few products for this layout.

12x12" Scrapbook Base - Basic Black Cardstock layered with a 10 x 12" piece of  the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper in the middle and two 1 x 12" pieces on the right and left side of that.   My photos were cropped 4 x 5 1/4" and mounted on Real Red Cardstock prior to adhering to my page.  I often refer to these two brothers as Bubba Boo and Gunner too so I used the too behind Gunner's name.  It's just a Tinaism! LOL  I used the Playful Alphabet dies to cut out the letters for that and I double stacked all of the letters so they would stand up a bit more.   I love the size of these Alphabet Dies and the price point is awesome with this quality of dies for just $34!   I also used the Dog Builder Punch and Stitched Triangle Dies to add some interest.  I double stacked the dog and the hearts from the punch.  Some of the traingles were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals and some were adhered with adhesive directly to the page.  The red stitched ribbon along the left side is from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack that also contains some black and white baker's twine.

The Spot Challenge #122 - Coffee, Cocktails & Chocolates with Stampin' Up! Nothing's Better Than and Autumn Goodness Bundle

Hey there!  Hope you're have a fun week so far!  I'm pretty excited about this week's DT card for The Spot Challenge #122 this week.  It's a Coffee, Cocktails & Chocolates theme and if you know me, you know I love coffee.  I love chocolate too but it definitely is in 2nd place after coffee!

I know that's it still hot as heck but I can't help but think about my favorite latte... Pumpkin Spice!  Yep, I'm definitely a fan and can't wait until Starbucks puts out their PSLs are back sign!

So in keeping with my love for all things Pumpkin Spice and all things Coffee, I have a fall Coffee card to share with you today.  It really has me in the mood for both right about now...

I went in full fall mode here with the Plaid Tidings DSP, Early Espresso and Bumble Bee Cardstock and some Pumpkin Pie, Cinnamon Cider, Old Olive and Granny Apple Green Blends to color in the fall harvest display.  I finished this off with three of the gold glitter enamel dots that were colored orange with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Blends.  I love that they make it so easy to color coordinate on a project!  There is nothing like a cool crisp fall morning and a hot cup of coffee to start the day out right... am I right?  Maybe it's just me but I am so ready for fall.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  A list of the supplies I used are linked below.

Blessings, Tina

The Spot Challenge #121 - Card Sketch with Stampin' Up! Freezin' Fun Bundle

Hi There!  I hope your week is off to a great start!  I'm sharing another Christmas Card today for the new card sketch over at The Spot Challenge Blog!

Do you ever look at a sketch and immediately know what you want to use on it?  Well I do sometimes and definitely did on this sketch.. Stampin' Up!'s new Freezin' Fun Bundle is perfect!

So today I learned some things.  The first thing I learned was that I do much better watercoloring animals than I do using my Stampin' Blends.  It just seems a lot easier for me to get contrast, shadows and color variation using a Water Painter and ink.  It's so easy to just smoosh a little link on an acrylic block and start painting.  For the lighter areas, I just dilute the ink more with water and for the darker areas, I use it more at full strength.   The 2nd thing I learned.. always use watercolor paper when watercoloring. lol  So I did use watercolor paper when I stamped the animals so there was no issue with that.  I did a little shadowing under the trees with my Water Painter and Balmy Blue Ink and that worked out ok but the sky.. ugh!  I had regular Whisper White cardstock layered over Thick Whisper White and tried to softly add some blue which turned into a big mess.  I was able to cut another piece of watercolor paper and do a light wash in Balmy Blue and then dry it and tuck it under the hill.  Quite the operation but I got it done!  I love Stampin' Up!'s  Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.. it is great quality!  And the new Water Painters are awesome!  They come in a set of three for just $12!  Such a great value!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
